Mommy Questions!

It is so good to know I can post a "Mommy Question" on my blog knowing that  a lot of you have great answers!

I know its still kind of early for all of this BUT I have 3 used car seats that will give me 25% off BIG purchase items.... So this is where I need your help!

I am going to buy my crib & car seat and something else that is expensive.

This is the Crib I have picked out! I love that its simple, white, great for boys & girls since I am going to be using it for all my children & it had great reviews!

My next question is car seat...
I would like one that is gender neutral and light weight but high safety features because you can't put a price tag on safety! What are the best brands? I need to find this car seat at babies r us for the discount. I don't want to spend a fortune. Suggestions please?

Stroller...
I am not going to get the travel system because they are huge and take up your whole trunk space and they have these great smaller size ones that I think just look fantastic.. what are your points, views etc?
Something like this (obviously not these colors) But you can still have the features of the big ones with space underneath, cup holders, etc. but not all the extra package it carries!!

What are the best brands? Fill me up with your baby knowledge because I still feel like I am in a dream!

My Story

Two blog posts in one day? Crazy I know BUT Jay D is staying late at work and I am SUPER bored!! I'm sure I could do something productive but that would mean I have to get up off the couch. Everyone says to enjoy being pregnant the first time when you don't have another little one running around.. oh I am enjoying! he he

Now I have talked about it taking me a long time to get pregnant well here is my story.

When I first decided to go off Birth Control it wasn't to get pregnant right away I had just heard that it took a few months to get it out of your system before you could get pregnant (not for everyone but for some) So I went off in Sept. of 09. I wasn't planning on getting pregnant but knew that within that year I would like to get pregnant.

In November my parents asked us if we wanted to go to Mexico with them.. of course we said yes! That was our Christmas that year. So I told Jay D we couldn't get pregnant because I didn't want to be sick and prego in Mexico!

Well November I noticed that something was wrong because I hadn't had my visit that month. I called the doctor and they gave me medicine after confirming I wasn't pregnant with a test. I wasn't too concerned right than.

We went to Mexico enjoyed every minute of it and I than decided okay I am ready to get pregnant whenever now! I had still been having problems but was due for my doctors appointment in May and thought I would just wait until than to see what was wrong.

I went to my appointment and asked him about it and he said well sounds like your not ovulating I will put you on clomid and hopefully see you ina couple months. I was like "that's it?" Your just going to give me some medicine and everything will be okay?

Well some of you know and some of you don't but Twins run in my family and I didn't want to increase my chances of having multiples so I went to get a 2nd opinion.

Now this was almost a year later after I had gone off birth control and by now I was REALLY ready to have a baby. I was SO baby hungry I couldn't stand it! That doctor said about the same thing. I was like I KNOW something is wrong I've gone on the clomid and nothing is still working. I don't know how this works? I've never been pregnant before. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!

It started getting to the point where people would ask when I was going to have a baby and I just wanted to scream I'd like one now but it ain't happening! I wanted to surprise everyone with the exciting news....

Finally after about 6 months of being on clomid and still no baby in my tummy I decided to go to a Mid Wife who I had thought about going too but wasn't sure if my insurance was covered there. Because something was obviously wrong with me.

The first thing she did was take my blood (thank you something other than here is this medicine hope to see you soon). Than she talked about me loosing 10% of my body weight because I was overweight for my height. I wasn't offended I knew I had gained a lot of weight since I had been married and had wanted to loose it.

I started weight watchers and it was a challenge but it really helped. After a couple months I just did it on my own because it was really expensive to do. I love 10% of my weight and got started on clomid BUT she actually had me come in and get ultrasounds every other day to see when I was ovulating. It only took two rounds of this and voila I was pregnant!

I am so thankful to my mid wife and know without her I would still be "trying" no fun!

There were days I was down and there were days I was grateful and now we are just excited! My testimony has grown so much from this experience and I am thankful for our savior and all he has done for us!

That's my story! =-)

Boy or Girl??

The Day is almost here that we will find out if we are having a Sweet little girl or a Fun & loving little boy!
Everyone keeps asking me if I would prefer one over the other. The best way to answer that is:
If I have a girl this time I would like a boy next time and if I have a boy this time I would like a girl next time.

As long as the baby is strong and healthy that is good enough for me!
I have a lot of love to give to this baby and can't wait to start feeling him or her moving around inside of me.

I have been very fortunate to feel so great during my pregnancy. I haven't gotten sick once unless you count the flu that I had a couple weeks ago but other than that I have felt awesome! I did not expect this at all!

The only problem about not feeling sick is I question if I am still pregnant or if the baby is okay? I'm not really showing yet so I worry the baby has stopped growing or something. But I am not petite and tiny and I lost a lot of weight right before I got pregnant so my skin has a little stretching room I guess.

Some moms to be go baby crazy way early on but I have really tried not to get really excited for a few personal reasons. I am sensitive towards others feelings, I don't want to get too excited if something bad happens, I guess I've just prepared myself for the worst. Since it took so long for me to get pregnant I try not to get too excited. Don't get me wrong I want to buy things (I did purchase swaddle blankets yesterday because I heard they are awesome). The only time I really talk about it is when someone talks to me about it! I had a hard time hearing about it all the time before I was pregnant and also it just depended on the day.

I look back and think I am grateful it has worked out this way. I have a lot to look back on and be thankful. Jay D and I spent a lot of time getting to know each other better and I think that will make our marriage so much stronger and better parents. We were able to go on a lot of fun vacations that otherwise we probably wouldn't have been able too.

But anyways we find out in one week if its a boy or girl!
If you want to guess what it is go for it! I have a poll on the right hand side at the top! If not that's okay too!

=-)
